They Crossed the Mountains, The History of the Western States Trail. A must-have for every Western States runner's movie library. This new documentary presents a detailed history of the Western States Trail and gives tribute to those that pioneered its early development. You will learn about the forces that gave birth to the trail, why it follows the Middle Fork of the American River and how the Run was born out of the Ride. The trail begins in Carson City, Nevada, and extends east to its termination in Auburn, California, following much of the modern day WS100 course.
