The Sense Ultra is a lightweight (less than 7.5 ounce) racing shoe designed to allow natural foot motion and forefoot running. An update to the original Sense, the Ultra has extended midfoot protection and increased midsole density. Kilian Jornet wore the Sense Ultra in 2011, winning both the Western States 100 and UTMB.
The story of the S-Lab Sense
Killian Jornet: "Just 3 kilometers from the finishing line of the WS 100 2010, I was battling with Nick Clark for third place. I was hanging in there with my jaw clenched, suffering terribly from cramps, dehydration and blisters over the last 30 kilometers. I kept on running, and occupied my mind by thinking about how to approach the same race the following year.
How could I improve in a way that I could avoid these issues and give 100%? I concluded that I needed to change my kit and make sure it would be better suited to exceptional conditions like these."
