The Hoka One One Mafate 2 is a lightweight trail running shoe designed for training and racing on the most demanding terrain.
Levitating
By using a 30% softer EVA foam and increasing its total volume to 2.5 times that of a typical trail running shoe, the Hoka is more cushioned than any other shoe on the market today. It dissipates up to 80% of the shock associated with foot strike.
With as much as 20mm of compression, the Hoka allows for tremendous confidence running downhill. Instead of isolating their quads, runners can engage the gluteus and lower back, which relaxes the body and makes running downhill comfortable and fun.
Rolling Up
40mm high sole design enables a 13cm rockering profile, representing 50% of the sole length. This design allows for fluid and natural stride transitions, increasing efficiency and decreasing the movement of the knee by as much as 20%.
Like a Feather
At 11 ounces per pair (size 9), they make running uphill as much fun as running downhill.
Grip and Stability
With 50% more surface area and 35% more lugs than a typical trail running shoe, and a foot recessed into the midsole, runners move more confidently.
