The Race: The start line is at Badwater, Death Valley, which marks the lowest elevation in North America at 280 feet(85m) below sea level. The race finishes at Mt. Whitney Portal at 8360' (2533m). The Badwater course covers three mountain ranges for a total of 13,000 feet (3962m) of cumulative vertical ascent and 4,700 feet (1433m) of cumulative descent.

June 23 - July 3, 2009 The Run to Cure Cancer Iowa/Nebraska, to Muscatine, Iowa Help in the fight to cure cancer. Starting June 23rd 2009 Steve Cannon will leave the Missouri river on the Nebraska / Iowa border and run an average of 26 miles per day, for 11 days. On July 3rd he will reach the Mississippi river in Muscatine, Iowa. He will have covered 289 miles and crossed Iowa, running a marathon a day. This will all be done in concert with the Lance Armstrong Foundation to raise money to cure cancer.
