Our beans are medium roasted and full of flavor, ideal for

What is Micro-roasting?
Coffee beans are roasted in small batches so that the roasting can be
fine-tuned for the specific bean, from batch to batch. The process is a craft,
tended by an artisan, rather than a mechanized, generic roasting process.
Our Roasting Philosophy
While working toward the perfect espresso, we discovered
the benefits of starting with not only quality beans, but beans that are
roasted for the purpose of espresso making. Most people think of an espresso
roast as dark and oily, labeled bold or French Roast. But these extremely dark-roasted
beans can taste burnt, like charcoal, with not much flavor of the bean remaining.
With a medium roast, wonderful caramel flavors come through
without any burned or bitter taste. The only acid you taste is the lemony
highlights of the espresso or coffee.
Our experience has drawn us toward a medium roast for all our coffee offerings.
None of our coffees is roasted into an oily state like some of the darkest Italian
and French styles. A coffee's natural taste and aroma are preserved in medium
roasts. Even our espresso is a medium roast with a profile similar to a classic Milanese style.
Our Coffee Selections
All of our coffees are shipped whole bean. We recommend grinding immediately before brewing. Coffee begins to deteriorate with seconds of being ground.
Dancing Shiva is a very smooth coffee roasted medium dark to preserve the natural sugars
and spicy nuances of Indian and Indonesian coffees. Low in acidity and full of body,
its earthy tones don't overpower the natural chocolate flavor, which includes hints
of vanilla, nutmeg and other spices.
Great for drip or french press; also makes an excellent espresso.
Indian Mysore
A clean tasting, naturally sweet coffee with hints of vanilla and chocolate.
It originates from shade grown coffee plantations that are shared with several
spice crops. These plantations use sustainable farming methods and preserve the
natural habitat for local wildlife. Our roaster has special relationships with
these estates to guarantee consistent quality.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
Yirgacheffe is a premium coffee region in the Sidamo province of Ethiopia.
This is a wet processed coffee and is not too bright but nicely acidic.
This year, the crop has an uncharacteristic body and deep chocolate notes.
Overall the cup is complex with a pungent aroma and a robust but smooth finish.
Sumatra Mandheling
An organic, shade-grown Grade-1 Sumatra Mandheling. This superb coffee has lots of
body and a mild earthiness, allowing the sweetness of the coffee to come through.
Wonderful as a single-origin espresso.
Guatemalan
This is a medium dark roast of a high altitude shade grown Guatemalan
coffee from a small production farm. This crop surprises in the cup with
low acidity and no brightness. It is a very aromatic coffee, naturally
bittersweet, bold choclate tones and a strong finish of nuts.
Excellent in all styles of brewing including the Aeropress.
Northerm Italian Espresso Blend
Our espresso blend offers boldness, flavor and a tremendous amount of crema.
Flavors include caramel, chocolate and mild nuts. This blend is our version of
a classic medium dark roasted Northern Italian style espresso.
Our Italian Blend also makes a wonderful cup using a drip filter or french press.
Decaf Guatemalan
Our decaf is a superb roast of the highest grade Guatemalan coffee, decaffeinated
by a non-chemical water process. This coffee is a wonderful single-origin bean with
a nutty flavor and complex chocolate undertones.
Decaf Ethiopian Sidamo (new coffee!)
Our latest decaf comes from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia.
It makes a fruity, intensely floral cup of coffee.

We ship coffee within a day of roasting, to ensure freshness.

phone orders. When you do, you get a free ground-to-order espresso, cappuccino, or Aeropress-brewed coffee!
